File a Claim

To make a claim, you will be required to download* and complete our manual claim form (PDF).

Medical or Dental Claims

For all medical, hospital or dental claims, please contact us on 0800 553 550 or +64 9 487 0806 as soon as possible and we will help you with the next steps.

Lost or damaged luggage and personal effects

If your luggage and personal effects have been damaged or permanently lost, please report it immediately to the police and obtain a written notice of your report.

Damaged or misplaced luggage and personal effects

For damage to or misplacement of your luggage and personal effects by an airline, or any other operator or accommodation provider, report the damage or misplacement to an appropriate official and obtain a written report, including any offer of settlement they may make.

Claims Payments

Claims are payable in New Zealand dollars to you. The rate of currency exchange that will apply is the rate at the time you incurred the expense. If you can make a claim against someone in relation to a loss or expense covered under your policy and you do not get paid the full amount of your claim, we may make up the difference.

Please submit full details of any claim in writing within 30 days of your return.

An overseas policyholder preference applies. Under Australian law, if Allianz Australia Insurance Limited is wound up, its assets in Australia must be applied to its Australian liabilities before they can be applied to overseas liabilities. To this extent, New Zealand policyholders may not be able to rely on Allianz Australia Insurance Limited's Australian assets to satisfy New Zealand liabilities.
